Editing is tough because it’s subjective.

I’ve found that the ultimate objective of editing is to reduce writing to its essence. One you do that, you’ll know what to leave in and what to cut out. The challenge you face is disassociating yourself from your work so you see what can be. Then you can take the steps to finish well.

That’s why it’s good to bring someone else in to help.
