Dreams are healthy when they stretch us. When they are so far from reality they can never come true, dreams can devastate us.

Let’s take a look at some popular ways we sabotage ourselves.

Believe that “if you build it, they will come.”

Field of Dreams is an old movie.

It was popular because we all wish we could just do something and experience guaranteed success.

Sometimes we see someone who came out of nowhere to become an “overnight success.” What we don’t see is all the years of preparation that person put in to make that opportunity count.

Effort doesn’t come with a success guarantee. Granted, some things are more effective than others. At best, you succeed when you throw enough spaghetti at the wall to find some that sticks.
