I used Word to write the manuscript. It seems to have the least issues when you’re converting to .mobi (the Kindle reader file).

I’ve just let the tool on the dashboard convert for me. The key seems to be formatting the book as well as you can beforehand. Then check the file to see if it looks the way you want. If that fails, try a second party program to convert or hire someone.

I’d say the best place to look for someone to help is in your writing groups online. If you’re not involved in one, I can suggest a few.
