Jason, you remind me of a couple experiences I had.

For 3 1/2 years, I worked at Burger King, toiling away, sweating, and getting paid. It was hard work, but I made friends there, and learned some valuable life lessons.

I once worked at a Telemarketing company where everyone in my department was shown the door one night. No warning. Just an invitation to come into the office and get your last two days pay. Sorry, that’s just the way it is.

If you want to make it in the world, you’ve got to consider that no one cares as much about you as you.

That’s definitely shaping what I’m doing going forward. Great post!
