The idea came from Eilidh Horder. She sent me an email about the award a couple months ago. In the spirit of sharing my failures, I must admit I let busyness keep me from answering it.
So why now?
Because I know myself well enough to see that unless I plan to have fun, I’ll bury myself in work.
So here goes!
Cake or pie?
Cake, because it feels less heavy on my stomach. But pie is probably better for you.
What’s your favorite memory from holiday seasons past?
Years ago, the holidays meant my family got to go to Savannah. It was a vacation from everything routine — work, school, even my own bedroom. And my grandmother’s cooking was so good.
What’s your favorite season?
Winter. Not for the cold. It’s the quiet I love. And the chance to reset and start anew. I love dreaming of a better future and winter gives me a kick start every January.
What’s your favorite flower?
Roses. They’re a great analogy for life — beauty among thorns.
