It’s hard to escape giving advice, especially when you’re a teacher at heart.

Perhaps it’s no coincidence that others told me I was a great writer after reading my childhood letters. Writing is a conversation, and it goes comfortably with coffee (or your favorite beverage).

We don’t write letters without a reader in mind. If we write everything that way, our writing will have personality, charm, and power.
