What Will You Give Up in 2020?

A counterintuitive way to look at the new year

Yesterday I mind mapped what I want the new year to look like.

I focused on the things I want to do.

Then this thought hit me:

While this is a great map for how to begin and what to focus on, it can’t tell me everything.

I’m prone to get distracted. Throw me an intellectual bone and I’ll chase it down the longest rabbit trail in the universe. I’m an information gatherer by nature. I love considering what’s possible — so much so that I can get locked into dreaming and never do anything.

Know thyself and learn to dodge curve balls

We all have a weakness.

Maybe it’s the fear of missing out.

Or maybe you don’t want to risk getting hurt.

It’s possible you don’t want to pay the price for a big mistake.

If I could sell you an insurance policy that protects you from jumping in over your head, would you buy it?
