Writers give up writing because they have a low frustration tolerance.

Criticism Kills Creativity

If you’ve ever poured your heart into something only to have someone pick it apart, it’s easy to give up.

Think about this for a moment.

Will you let one person, or even a few, be the judge and jury that decides whether your writing is priceless or worthless? Or will you recognize that for the critic, your writing isn’t a good fit?

There’s a world of difference between the two. Never forget that anyone’s response to your writing is at best, an opinion.

And one more thing… while it’s easy to ride on the good feelings excessive praise can give you, remember those are just opinions, too.

If your writing helps one person, then it was worth whatever it took to get it on the page.
